Home Automation

The research sector Home Automation develops and researches technologies for the intelligent, energy-efficient and resource-efficient housing in the private sector. The research sectors consists of scientists from different disciplines: engineers, computer scientists, social scientists and health experts. Together, they are developing concepts to ensure efficient energy supply and use as well as to create a self-determined, age-appropriate and individual living space.

The research activities are focused on intelligent systems and devices that work autonomously and interoperably, and enable an intuitive interaction, including using speech or gestures. In particular, the research sector benefits from the knowledge at the institute in the context of the intelligent, digital factory – this knowledge is transferred to the residential environment. Likewise, the research results and the experience gained enrich the know-how of the other research sectors at the FAPS institute.
