Project description

The research project AsProMed aims at developing robot based assistance systems for different tasks in the production environment and for medicine near applications. People with health damages should be rehabilitated faster, impaired workers should be integrated into employment as well as physical impairment caused by work tasks should be avoided by the reduction of operational demands.

In the subproject “collision avoidance” the institute FAPS develops strategies for automatic path planning and collision avoidance of the deployed robot assistant by means of work space surveillance and object detection using the 3D PMD camera technology.
