The publication “A system for human-in-the-loop simulation of industrial collaborative robot applications” by Maximilian Metzner, Daniel Utsch, Matthias Walter, Christian Hofstetter, Dr.-Ing. Christina Ramer, Andreas Blank and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franke was awarded the Best Application Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE) 2020. Due to the worldwide pandemic situation, IEEE CASE 2020 was not held in Hong Kong as planned, but via teleconference. As one of the three flagship conferences of the IEEE Robot and Automation Science Society, IEEE CASE represents one of the most important and renowned conferences for automation technology.
The awarded publication presents and validates a system for virtual commissioning of workstations with human-robot collaboration using VR as well as a newly designed hybrid motion capturing system.
