The existing IT infrastructure was expanded in order to further improve the variety of lectures, the technology transfer and the cooperative collaboration. In addition to further investments, two multi-touch monitors were purchased as enablers for intuitive human-machine interfaces for the laboratories in Nuremberg and Erlangen.

In particular, these and other investments address the following fields of activity:

  • Simplified understanding of information and data through intuitive interaction
  • Integration of live process and plant data during guided tours and presentations
  • Integration of web-based applications into the shop floor

In the future, existing potentials will be further exploited and human-machine interaction will be simplified by the development of further plant-specific web-based user interfaces.
