11.07.2023: LiQ 5 – New research machine for liquid additive manufacturing of silicone components put into operation

Recently, a new research machine for the printing of silicone components using liquid additive manufacturing was put into operation at the chair’s location in Erlangen. The system from innovatiQ is being used as part of the ProLAM project, which is being worked on together with the system manufacturer. Within the project, the additive manufacturing process is being modeled so that process stability and quality can be optimized.

The parts are manufactured on the basis of liquid silicone rubber (LSR), which is applied to the building platform with cavity pumps through a static mixer. The applied rubber is thermally crosslinked layer by layer and a three-dimensional component is created. The installation space of the industrial machine is 250 x 320 x 150 mm. The components produced are used, for example, in medical technology or mechanical engineering.
