The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy has approved the ROBOTOP team’s groundbreaking, innovative research project “XR-ROBOT” and is funding ROBOTOP to the value of 330,000€. The research project, which is based on extended reality (XR – AR/VR/3D), NeRF and AI-based planning of automation solutions, represents a significant advance in 3D/XR distribution & planning of robotics, automation technology and general digitalisation in mechanical and plant engineering.
The XR-ROBOT research project is creating a future in which 3D/XR sales and planning, in the field of automation, robotics and mechanical and plant engineering, will become an exciting and interactive experience for all participants. Thanks to the approved funding, the ROBOTOP team can intensify and further develop its work on this future-oriented solution.
ROBOTOP GmbH, a spin-off of the Chair of FAPS at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, and the dedicated founding team, consisting of Dr. Eike Wolfram Schäffer, Baris Erdönmez, Tony Phan, and Nicolas Falbesaner, are delighted about the recognition of their highly innovative work. The support of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy through the funding programme for technology-oriented start-ups – BayTOU, confirms the confidence in the vision and technological progress of ROBOTOP GmbH. The funding program offers special support for technology-oriented business startups. Therefore, it could also be essential for future spin-offs from FAU and the FAPS chair to effectively transfer innovations from research to industry and further develop them.
