Since February, Nils Thielen has taken over the lead of the research group Electronics Production. As scientific assistant, he has been researching in the field of data-driven quality control of solder joints at FAPS since 2019.

Alexander Hensel, who has been responsible so far, achieved in his research siginificant progress in the field of plasma-based coating processes. Additionally, he has driven along the growth of the reserach group Electronics Production intensively and has enhanced the competences with regard to additive manufacturing and power electronics. Besides, he has essentially built up the research focus on data-driven methods and digitalization in SMT and THT manufacturing.
