17.-19.06.2023: FAPS in “Down Under” at the 33rd CIRP Design Conference in Sydney

Tobias Reichenstein bei der CIRP Design 2023

The 33rd CIRP Design Conference, which was organized by Prof. Ang Liu and Prof. Sami Kara from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), addressed challenges for engineering design. On the one hand, novel solutions to a variety of significant engineering challenges, in the post-pandemic world were presented, which can be addressed using innovative design thinking. On the other hand, transformations of engineering design towards higher intelligence and digitalization were presented.

A contribution of the FAPS to address these challenges was provided by Tobias Reichenstein and Jörg Franke with the publication “Toward a structured concept for purpose-driven modeling of a digital shadow in manufacturing“, which provides a process for purpose-driven conceptualization of digital shadows in manufacturing.

This publication is a good example of how research is being advanced at FAPS:

The Institute FAPS would like to thank the co-authors for their cooperation as well as UNSW for the organization of the CIRP Design and the hospitality in Sydney.
