25.-27.07.2022: Strategy meetings of the research sectors Automation Technology and Engineering Systems

The colleagues of the research sectors Automation Technology and Engineering Systems

As an integral part of the strategic development of the chair, the strategy meetings of the research sectors Automation Technology (AT) and Engineering Systems (ES) took place again this year at the Jugendbildungshaus Am Knock in Teuschnitz (Upper Franconia).

The workshops focused on the implementation of the chair’s strategy in a suitable partial strategy by sharpening and shaping the content of the respective focal points in the research sectors. To this end, current (technological) trends were addressed and future-oriented research ideas developed. Topics such as the recruiting of suitable scientific staff, the establishment of laboratory demonstrators or the optimization of external presentation and marketing were also intensively discussed.

In the surroundings of the meeting center and away from the official program, there was also the opportunity for cross-group networking during team building. A hike with interspersed team games provided an opportunity to get to know colleagues better and to practice cooperation interactively.

In addition, this year’s strategy meeting was adorned with two special program items: On August 26, we had the honor of receiving the honorary professor of the FAPS chair and current BDI president, Prof. Siegfried Rußwurm, for a joint dinner and “fireside chat” in an informal setting. This was followed by a visit to the Wiegand-Glas company on August 27. Here we had the opportunity to experience the production of glass bottles live and gained valuable insights into the company and the energy-intensive glass industry.
