Definition
The technology field Additive Manufacturing Technologies bundles the chair competence of all activities in the field of additive or layered generation of electronic components across groups and is the platform for interdisciplinary exchange.
Vision
The main areas of research in the field of technology are to expand additive manufacturing, as we know it today, to a new dimension, the electrical and information technology, and enable the additive manufacturing of mechatronically functionalized components.
Focus areas
The classic AM processes such as FDM, SLA, SLS or STL are combined with the core competencies in the area of MID, aerosol-jet printing or plasma processes and the following topics are focused:
- Use and qualification of new materials
- Further development of existing and research of new processes
- Development of digital tools for product development
- Identification of effective business models
