25.10.2022: Patent “Vorrichtung zum Setzen von elektrischen Leiterelementen” granted

The chair FAPS has received the grant of the patent “Softgripping-Anschlussvorrichtung für elektrische Leitungen” at the German Patent and Trademark Office. The core of the patent is a special gripping system for cables, which enables a fully automatic wiring process for electrical components in switchgear construction and cable sets for mechatronic products in general. In this process, both sides of the cable are plugged and gripped via an elastic element. On the one hand, this reduces the risk of damaging the insulation of the cable, and on the other hand, complex mechanics can be dispensed with in the gripping system. As a result, the size of the processing head and thus of the interference contour is small. The patent was developed in the course of investigations into the fully automated production of charging columns and underlines the innovative research activities of the chair in the field of signal and power networks.
