The institute FAPS welcomes the EXIST spin-off project “SofTiss Anatomics” funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWi). The project is part of the research area Biomechatronics and is supported by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Franke as mentor.
Among the three scholarship holders Hannah Riedle, Simone Philipp and Matheus Neri there is also a FAPS aluma with Ms. Riedle. The founding idea for the start-up arose from her doctoral thesis topic. The team is engaged in the development and distribution of soft, 3D-printed anatomical models for surgical simulation, which can be individually configured using an innovative, flexible design method. The artificial reproduction of different body parts improves the possibilities in medical education and training, evaluation in the context of medical device development and research.
